Database of archaeological monuments in Moscow’s territory.
Centre of archaeological research GUOP Moscow is principally interested in such parts of occupation layers which may be destroyed during erection of houses, construction of communication lines or other construction activities in Moscow. During Moscow’s development in its borders were included ancient settlements, graveyards, etc., which belonged to most different times - from late stone ages to XVIII - XIX centuries.
For the record units we take the archaeological monuments as sites which contain all monuments connected with the principal one.
We think that the list of archaeological monuments in Moscow’s territory must contain not only those found during archaeological studies (explorations and excavations) but also the list of dwellings, graveyards etc. found during study of written sources.
